Swimming!

Alex went swimming for the first time this past weekend in the pool in the hotel we stayed at.

His swimsuit is as big as he is!

The main pool was a little too cold for Alex.

He enjoyed the hot tub more, but we couldn't keep him in there for too long because it was a little too warm for him.

Great-Grandma

We visited my grandmother in Paducah, KY, this weekend. She was dying to see Alex so we took him to visit for a couple of days.

Alex and His Grandpas (and Grandma)

Heinz's parents came to visit when Alex was just two weeks old. He looks so little here!

My dad stopped by when he was in town one day.

And of course Heinz's mom was here too.

Rolling Over

Alex doesn't like tummy time. So he figured out a new way of getting out of it. He first started doing this a week and a half ago: He pushes himself up on his right arm, then he grunts and cries until he gets upright and then somehow kicks his right leg back enough until he falls onto his back. The first time he did it I thought it was a fluke. But then a couple of days after that Heinz and I watched him do it three times in a row!

Blankie

Lately Alex has been grabbing hold of the burp cloths, so I decided he needed a blankie of his own. He seems to like this small thin one with the satin binding.

New Tummy Time Mat

I got Alex a new tummy time mat, hoping that it would be a good motivator to work on his tummy time. No such luck. He was far more interested in taking a nap.

Bumbo Seat

Alex has been holding his head up so well and wanting to look around that I put him in the Bumbo seat we're borrowing from Luke. I think he likes it!

Professional Photo Shoot

When Alex was two weeks old, we visited photographer Melissa Wells in her studio for a photo shoot. Since the images are copyrighted, I can't use them whenever I want. But you can view them all here. Go to clients, and the password is alex.
